Our Pastor - the Reverend Tim Challen

Tim Challen is an Ordained Minister with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC). He started serving as the Pastor of Faith Community Baptist Church of Souris in September, 2023.

Tim grew up in Vancouver, BC, and became a Christian when he was 18 years old. He graduated from Regent College, with a Master of Divinity degree, in 2019, when he was 36 years old. He was ordained in June 2022. In addition to being a Pastor, Tim is also a Captain in the Canadian Army Reserve. He  serves as the Chaplain of the 26th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, in Brandon, Manitoba.

Tim is passionate about helping people to understand and work through the most difficult and/or controversial aspects of the Christian faith. And he feels particularly called to minister to people who have difficulty expressing their emotions, and who don't feel as though they can be vulnerable with God, or with other people, as those are issues that played a significant part in his own spiritual journey.

Tim enjoys hiking and snowshoeing, reading books about history, and drinking tea. He is a committed supporter of Everton FC, of the English Premier League.
